Who We Are
Theatre 118 is a community-led artist development organisation supporting Glasgow's grassroots theatre community. Led by experienced theatre makers, we provide affordable rehearsal space, workshops, mentorship, and resources for emerging theatre artists who are currently underserved by existing arts infrastructure, so theatre can be a part of every Glaswegian's life.
The majority of the theatre artists we support could not otherwise access rehearsal space due to cost barriers. By providing affordable space and development opportunities, we are helping to improve access to the arts for low-income people, and improve the diversity of Glasgow's grassroots arts scene by breaking down class barriers.
What We Do
Affordable Rehearsal Space
For grassroots theatre companies who face cost barriers to accessing space elsewhere. We believe no one should be priced out of making theatre.
Artist Development
Through workshops, one-to-one mentorship, and practical hands-on support with productions. We help artists grow their craft and build their careers.
Shows and Events
For artists to present work developed through our programmes of public performances, with affordable ticket prices so audiences aren't priced out either.
Our Impact Since March 2025
In just nine months, Theatre 118 has made a significant contribution to Glasgow's theatre scene, providing support to an underserved community of artists.
Looking Ahead
Following the end of our meanwhile use arrangement, we are seeking a new home to continue and expand our work.
